FAQs about CBD Use in Pets

Each bottle contains a dropper to administer dosing. Give with food, on a treat, or directly in the mouth. Just be sure that your pet is able to take an entire dose. Dose size can vary based on your pet’s needs. We make suggestions on our dosing chart which you can review HERE, this chart provides the most up-to-date information. You may need a higher dose, we recommend consulting a vet about what might be the right fit for your pet.

We use natural chicken flavoring in our CBD oil, which makes it very appealing for most pets. We have introduced a new Salmon flavor in our 600 mg bottles.

We have found from our pet owners that Baseline Dosage is sufficient for 70% of cases. If your pet does not respond, you may need to consider increasing their dosage.

For intractable cases, pet owners have increased up to 10X Baseline Dosage (in line with what is being considered in a Dosage Escalation trial). For these cases, we also recommend our 2400mg bottle which has a higher concentration, may be easier to measure and reduce frequent re-orders. We have not conducted any clinical trials on puppies, however, several pet owners have administered it to their puppies at our baseline dosage and have achieved good results.

So far, ABSC Organics Pure CBD Oil™ has been involved in dog-specific clinical trials. However, we have a number of customers who are cat owners and we hope to have the opportunity to be involved in feline and equine studies in the future.

At this time, we have conducted three trials: a safety and toxicity assessment, which showed that our product is safe and well-tolerated, and epilepsy and osteoarthritis studies, which showed promising results for management of those conditions.

Many of our pet owners have shared that the product calms their dog, eliminates situational anxiety, increases mobility, reduces pain and inflammation, reduces tumors, and more. These anecdotal reports are incredibly helpful, but we have yet to conduct clinical trials on all of those conditions.

From time to time you may notice that your ABSC Organics Pure CBD Oil for Pets has a different color, consistency, or smell. Rest assured, this does not affect the efficacy of the product.

We test every batch of ABSC Organics Pure CBD Oil for Pets to ensure that the CBD concentration remains consistent – though we do allow an acceptable variance to account for the natural changes and fluctuations that occur with natural, plant-based therapies. Fluctuations in sunlight, water levels, and soil composition can make each harvest look and feel slightly different. Our research verifies that different plants, different harvests, and different extractions can all affect the complex interplay between the hundreds of cannabinoids (at least 144 identified to date)  and terpenes (at least 117 identified to date) that scientists have identified in the cannabis plant. Although some attributes of the oil may be different from batch to batch, the level of CBD–the active cannabinoid in ABSC Organics Pure CBD Oil–is consistent.

The hemp seed oil used in our commercial product is formulated in such a way that it does not require refrigeration. However, if you need to store your CBD oil for long periods, refrigeration can extend the life of an unopened product by 2 years. Do not refrigerate any treat or balm products.

Do not freeze any ABSC Organic products.

Our CBD oil is extracted from the hemp plants at a strategic time and date that allows us to maximize the beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes. This process also eliminates THC–the psychoactive component in marijuana that delivers the “high.”

No. ABSC Organics Pure CBD Oil™ is non-psychoactive. This means that our product won’t make your pet “high” or cause any mind-altering effects. Our plants are cut and the hemp oil is extracted long before the plant can form amounts of psychoactive THC > 0.3%. (Federal law mandates that legal industrial hemp products–including CBD oil–must have THC concentrations under 0.3%.)

ABSC Organics Pure CBD Oil™ is the proprietary product of Applied Basic Science Corporation. It is created from concentrated, organically-grown Colorado hemp extract, which is grown, processed, and compounded in Colorado.

A Phase One Clinical Trial is the first stage of clinical trials for a new drug. Phase One trials are focused on SAFETY. The relevant question during a Phase One trial is “is the treatment safe?”  Once a drug has passed Phase One trial, it can move into Phase Two testing. Phase Two testing examines the EFFICACY of the drug in treating a specific condition or symptom. A researcher conducting a Phase Two trial seeks to answer “does the treatment work?”.

Yes. The clinical trials were reviewed and regulated under the supervisory committee of Colorado State University established by federal mandate. This committee is known as The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). At CSU the committee is comprised of members who are highly qualified and experienced. We recommend checking with your pet insurance provider; many will reimburse 90 to 100 percent of the cost depending on the insurance plan.

You can return the UNOPENED product within 30 days of purchase for a refund. We do not accept returns of any open product.

We do not offer refunds on discounted products like BOGO (buy one, get one), mislabeled promotions, or otherwise specially discounted products.

We periodically run promotions for predetermined periods of time. Because of this, we do not allow for the retroactive application of coupons or discounts. The best way to stay informed about these promotions is to follow us on Facebook and Instagram and to subscribe to our newsletter.

Sometimes our mail carriers experience hiccups that can cause delays.  If your package appears to be lost and did not arrive in its typical time frame please allow 2 weeks from the last update for it to arrive. If your package does not arrive within the 2 weeks from the last update please contact customer service.

Unfortunately, we cannot ship outside of the USA at this time.

No, due to the speed of fulfillment we cannot make any changes once an order is placed.

While we do offer flexible subscription options with no long-term commitments, we need 5 business days’ notice before your next subscription order is processed to make any changes. If you request changes within that 5-day window we cannot guarantee that we can fulfill your request.
